Ort

Directions: Follow your GPS to Clayton Georgia (heading North from Atlanta), or to Dillard Georgia (heading South from NC).Turn onto Wolffork Rd. Stay on this winding road through the valley until you get to Keener Lane. There is a ceramic chicken on the right side of Keener Lane entrance. Don’t turn on Allen Cove Rd even if GPS tells you to. After you turn on Keener Lane, you’ll drive between an A frame 2 story house & small red shed on the right and a red garage on the left. Go straight until you run into the gate. You need the gate code to enter our property. Gate code will be sent 24 hours prior to check in. After you pass through gate, take the left fork (yellow goat sign on the left) and follow road around until you see the house and park in driveway. Meet Sherri in driveway by trellis. Call or text Sherri if issues 678-598-1781.

Please be aware that our road is gravel. You do not need 4WD unless it is icy as there is a slight slope/dip at the gate. Once you turn onto Wolffork road, the mountain roads are very curvy, narrow and there are no street lights - so it is VERY dark at night. Try to arrive before dark and drive slow on the curves.

Sherri Belk

Sherri Belk is the owner of Goats in the Gap Farm. She always dreamed she'd have a horse farm one day, but she never thought about having Goats! In 2017, she was about to build a 500 square-foot apartment onto her home in suburban Atlanta as a place for her disabled adult son to live. The residential programs he had been in for years just weren’t helping him to thrive. She visited the Rabun Gap area and stumbled upon this little farm with 5.6 acres that cost the same as putting that very small apartment onto her house. She couldn’t get out of the city fast enough! Her farm in Rabun Gap came with five goats one livestock guardian dog and 13 chickens! Overnight she became a goat farmer and to her delight found out what wonderful animals they really were. They have so much personality and are so affectionate. Her son came alive on the farm bonding with the animals and having a feeling of purpose caring for animals and gardening. They’ve also been great therapy for Sherri too in so many ways. They rejuvenate her and help her connect deeper with God. Her focus is to share the peace and joy they have found with others.
